Resolving SFTP Data Ingestion Errors

Overview

Keeping your data accurate, complete, and centralized within Klir is an important part of maintaining compliance and ensuring your team has access to the information they need.

Occasionally, data submitted through an SFTP integration may not be successfully ingested. This can happen for a variety of reasons, such as missing information, formatting issues, or values that don't match existing records within your Klir environment.

When an ingestion error occurs, the affected records are not imported until the issue is resolved. Fortunately, most ingestion errors can be identified and corrected in just a few steps.

The Resolution Process

If your data did not import successfully, follow this workflow:

1. Locate the Error
Review the Error Report attached to your ingestion summary email or navigate to the SFTP Import Errors page within Klir.

2. Understand the Issue
Review the Error Report to identify what prevented the record from being successfully ingested.

3. Correct the Data
Update the source file based on the reported error. Common issues include missing information, invalid reference values, and incorrect date formats.

4. Re-Submit the File
Save the corrected file, update the file name so it is unique, and place it in your designated SFTP location.

5. Confirm Successful Ingestion
Review the next ingestion summary email or SFTP Import Errors page to verify the corrected records were successfully imported.

6. Contact Support if Needed
If you continue to experience issues after correcting and re-submitting your data, Klir Support is available to help.
