July 2026 Release Notes – Klir v9.9.8
What’s New in v9.9.8
Klir v9.9.8 is focused on Industrial Pretreatment. The headline is big: Industrial Users can now submit Sample Monitoring Reports straight through Klir Connect, with a structured review workflow on the utility side, full CROMERR compliance, and a rebuilt approach to report requirements and scheduling. Alongside that, benchsheets got easier to read and sample result exports got smarter, plus the usual round of fixes. Here's everything, section by section.
Community Updates
Klir Connect: IU Self-Service Submission
Industrial Users now have a dedicated self-service experience for submitting SMRs directly to the utility. No paper, no email.
-
Role-based access: Authorized Signatories sign and submit, Data Preparers enter and prepare report data
-
Identity proofing, Electronic Signature Agreement (ESA), and two-factor authentication built into onboarding
-
Report submission via file upload or structured data entry, with an embedded document viewer
-
Two-way comments between the IU and the utility, with notifications on both sides
-
Submission receipt email and a Copy of Record issued to the IU on every successful submission
CROMERR Compliance, Built In
For utilities under the Cross-Media Electronic Reporting Rule (40 CFR Part 3), every element of the regulatory framework is built into the submission workflow.
-
Signature Ceremony: a deliberate, audited signing step separate from data entry
-
Copy of Record (COR): an immutable, tamper-proof record generated at submission and stored in Azure Blob Storage
-
Full audit trail: signer IP, password changes, security question history, and contact role changes
Note: Utilities not yet mandated under CROMERR also receive a Copy of Record on every submission, so you're ready the moment the requirement applies to you.
Structured Submission Review
When a report is submitted, a review ticket is automatically created for utility staff, so your team has a structured profile view to action the report, not just a file sitting in an inbox.
-
Review queue ticket auto-created on every submission, with status tracking from receipt to completion
-
Submitted report profile with document viewer, checklist, comments, and data review
-
Ticket closes automatically once the utility marks the report complete
Report Requirements & Scheduling
Report requirements have been rebuilt at the IU facility level, with a new creation flow, recurring scheduling, and a full lifecycle from creation through deletion.
- Recurring and single report requirement creation, with a new workflow and flexible reporting periods
- Report schedule list, due date management, and calendar-based date selection
- Checklists can be created, edited, duplicated, archived, and linked to recurring requirements
- Permit-level report requirements have migrated to the facility level; the legacy card is now hidden

Sample evaluations now use calculated evaluations for improved accuracy
